Annoying problem with internet. Is it a Virus?

When I go onto the internet some pictures will not load. For example, on the google homepage the google symbol at the top appears as a box with "google" written in the top left corner, another example is that on ebay, all the tabs such as "log in" and "my ebay" at the top appear as blue text rather than images as they should be.

This is not an internet explorer problem, as I am using Firefox, and the same thing happens in BT internet explorer.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you got a firewall/anti-virus program installed?Maybe it's configured to block some images.

That isn't a problem, as I don't have any anti virus software installed. However, the problem seems to be getting worse.

Any other ideas?

Download AVG Free Antivirus and Sbybot Search & Destroy and scan your computer.
