Default Data Recovery Program

Hello, i was wondering if anyone knows of a good free program that i could use to recover some data that i managed to get rid of. I accidently formatted my secondary hard drive and installed windows on it thinking it was my primary hard drive. (I'm not an idiot although i feel like one, the windows instillation reported it as C drive, only later did i realize this was because it's primary master on IDE channel 1, my other hard drive is Sata and the bios thinks is on like the third IDE channel for some reason.) Anyway i lost a lot of episodes of the simpsons, family guy, and futurama, and about 1000 music videos, not to mention all of my pictures. If anyone could help me out that'd be great.

you can do a format recovery if you formatted it or you can use the recovery deleted files. what program are you using? i was able to recover everything from my drive using the raw format.

You could try GetDataBack. I use it and it works nice and easy!

I was gonna suggest that, but it recovered less data than Ontrack Easy Recovery in my view. you can see my thread here.
In the same thread someone gave me a program but that still didn't recover as much as ontrack, cause they don't have various options such as "raw format" and "advance Format". i suggest you try ontrack.
If you have patience to wait for like 4+5 hours of recovery then try ontrack
