Default Dial-up

I was wondering if any one here knows of a program that will auto-disconect from the internet or have a popup window or something, when you are on the internet thru a dialup modem and someone is calling you?

Usually if you have activated call-waiting and somebody calls you,the modem will disconnect automatically and the phone will ring.

I never heard of that before, because then you would get disconnected constantly.

They have little devices which are able to detect when a person calls, and allows you to talk to them without disrupting your internet (although it still disconnects).

If you use AOL I believe they have somthing called "Call Alert". My dad used to use it, and I loved the feature!

It really depends on your modem most of the time if it has that feature and if it does, most of it will come with it's own utility. Such as the modem I have on my laptop has a ModemOnHold feature that came bundled with it that does just that.
