Question Recomend one please...

Could anybody recomend a motherboard that would be compatable with an AMD Athlon XP 2400+?
What socket would it be?
For under £70...

Thanks.

Most likely, you will want to upgrade to a newer motherboard/cpu. Socket A really isn't worth putting any money into.

You will need a socket A motherboard, and no, that won't work (it's a socket AM2, not A like you need.)

Thanks, but I can't find any mother boards with 'Socket A'... I also need an AGP slot and also 3 minimum RAM slots...

That's because it is a fairly old socket. Since then, there has been Socket 754, Socket 939, Socket AM2, and Socket F, the most familiar being Socket AM2. If you still want to keep your graphics card and DDR memory, one option would be to upgrade your motherboard and processor to socket 754, which still uses DDR memory and the AGP slot. You might be able to find a Socket 939 motherboard with AGP, though it mostly uses PCI-express.
