Hi everyone!
I'm completely going over my computer(switching to a 939 motherboard and a 64 amd). I have two hardrives on my computer. My second one is just a storage systen, I only have music, text and videos on it. Now is it possible to put all my important data on my second hardrive and remove it, and then format my original C: hardrive, and then get all my info off my new drive? I just want to do a clean start so I can have maximun performance for Startrek legacy and company of heros. Thanks for your time! -Rob |

Personally, I would strongly suggest making the move all the way to Socket AM2, or, switching to the far superior Core 2 Duo

lol.....939 seems to be just fine, make sure you have @ least 1GB ram though!
and yes you can back up ur first hard drive to your second one and format or do whatever you want to do with the first drive! You can even use a third party program to do the backing up for you! good luck m8!

How about an external drive? They're dirt cheap now and you can even make your own with spare drives you have lying around (just need to buy an enclosure). Besides, they are great for backups. I also have a 2nd internal drive that I keep all my media on, but I also back it up weekly to an external drive.

I ended up with a free 120gig hardrive a couple of months ago, had no real use for it so I just slammed it into my computer, but now I'll load all the stuff I want to keep on it and clean ship.
My computer has two functions, recording music, playing RTS games, and I am starting to fall behind on the rts games(Not dissing my xp2500, its been the most realiable processor I have ever owned, and its overclocked to hell and back) |
