Default Need help please.

well it looks like my computer has gotten a virus. I have no idea how computers work so i have no idea of how to get rid of it. I tried a full system scan with the Spyware Doctor program and after it did its thing the virus is still there. this little bubble keeps popping up at the bottom right saying "System Alert: Trojan-Spy.Win32@mx" and some other stuff.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Also, is it possible for me to just completely erase everything from my computer and have it start out like when i first bought it?

Did you need a pc doctor to make a House Call? http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ Run this by downloading the 30trial of Trend Micro's PC-cillin and it will pretty much clean up your system as well as putting a personal firewall inplace. Have you been downloading any media codecs lately? http://www.spynomore.com/trojan-zlob.htm

The removal guide for the Trojan-Spy.Win32@mx is found at http://www.thespywareremover.com/trojanspy.html

spyware and viruses are two different things, thats why when you ran your spyware doctor program the virus was not removed

In order to run House Call you will have to download and install PC-cillin which has virus, trojan, spyware, and adware removers all rolled into one deal there. It also has an antiphising filter and will deny access to suspect sites depending on how high you set the security settings. Plus you get a personal firewall added on top of that. But it also has a few drawbacks like bumping you offline when busy on a page liike this. You then have to reboot the system to back on again. I can imagine what the full version is like.

At this time you simply need something strong enough to clean the entire system. You will also want to temporarily shut off the system restore feature considering the current restore points are also infected.

You can run housecall but it might not always get the virus due to access issues. If you can put the drive as a slave in another system and run housecall or another antivirus program such as Avast, AVG, or even Antivir it should be able to get rid of it.

The problem there is not knowing whatelse besides the trojan named is on the drive. The idea of PC-cillin is to run that one first due to the combined tools there. Without another case to slave the drive in you will want the most involved tool on first since that will in trial version there. Once uninstalled after finding what it can you would then freely install and run other removers.

By the description of popups that's not a virus but more like a trojan downloader. The removal guide explains how to remove the one detected. House Call and other tools will ffind and remove others. Another free Ewido trojan scanner can be downloaded from http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

I don't even understand what you just said. Is english your native language or do you run everything you say through an online translator first? Just do it the way that I mentioned and you'll be good to go. The purpose of slaving is to remove the "access denied" on some files because the OS is "using them" (as in running in the background).

If you are certain a virus has infected the system the first usually done is to disable the system restore process to eliminate any possible reinfection later. The next step would be to boot in safe mode and run an antivirus program. You can easily use the task manager to end any processes other then the defaults. But the problem there was that the Spyware Doctor like a number of others couldn't remove a trojan not a specific virus.
