I was thinking about this while driving back home today. I thought it could make a pretty neat poll here
The subject explains everything ![]() Please give a breif explination why you like the decade you chose, perhaps a few cars you liked during that time. Hopfully this won't get too skewed or anything. I know there are quite a few different people here in different countries... I don't know what cars were like in the 20's in say the UK ![]() As for me, I prefer the 80s. Back then, cars were still mostly mechanical. Computerized parts were being added, but nothing when compared to today. I also am rather partial to a more boxy look. I think new cars today are just as ugly as can be. Finally, cars were more sturdy back then. Inside and out, cars are made out of lighter(and probably cheaper) materials. A few of my favorite cars from this time would be the Pontiac Fiero and the Jeep Cherokee

![]() As for Al Capone, I looked around... It seems he drove a 1930s V16 Cadillac

mainly for the beauty that is the Aston martin DB5 and its (not quite as good but still stunning) follow up the DB5 also a fan of some of the 70's british cars like the triumph TR7 but i dream of owning a classic DB5, saw a stunning one at Oulten park recently and must have spent near an hour looking at it ![]()

I was amazed when i saw the Bugatti for the first time on top gear. But looking at it now, its just a pin up concept. Same as whent he Lamborghini countach and Diablo came out, boys would put posters of it up on the wall. Not a big fan of the Veyron anymore. Mechanically, beautiful but for £800,000+? No chance!

My area is similar in that bentleys seem more common than your average escort at the moment. Still love to own one having been to the manufacturing plant and seen them being hand built....but a little too common now. Kinda lost it exclusivity
