im in my neighbors house and i have 85% signal strength. wow.

802.11b actually has the same range as Pre-N

No it doesn't, pre-n and 802.11g have much greater range and speed.

Well what I found online says B gets about 50 meters max range, G gets about 30 meters, and Pre-N gets 50 meters. But I can't really argue this point as I've not used Pre-N

Where did you find that info? lol

802.11a has a range of ~50 Meters
802.11b has a range of ~100 Meters
802.11g has a range of ~100 Meters
802.11n (pre-n) has a range of ~250 Meters.
