Default HIS X1800 GTO Red LED's

Hello all.

Well, I've recently been working inside my machine (sorting my RAM out) when on one boot up of the computer my monitor got no output from the graphics card (the card is a: ATi X1800 GT0 Excalibur Turbo ICEQ3 Silent 256MB GDDR3), the power light on the monitor flickered on and off as if in sleep mode. Right so I remove the graphics card and replace it back in the PCI-E slot, now it seems to display a picture and games appear to run as normal. My question is, near the power connector on the graphics card for the 6 pin connector from the PSU to go in, there are 2 red LED lights on my card that flicker on for 2 seconds then switch off while booting and continue to stay off after the 2 second on time. Is this normal? It's just I've never noticed those lights before until now and I've had this card for a good month or two now and I'm almost certain I've never seen these lights flash on before.

Best regards,

Breaks.

if you have the manual to your card it should say what those lights mean. they are probably a code of errors or just wats happening with the card

Yeah I've tried looking for the box but for some reason it seems to have decided to hide from me, which isn't at all funny. Asked on the forums to the place where I purchased it from and they said they're just simple diagnostic lights and that I shouldn't worry unless they stay permanently on.

Better to be safe than sorry, so I'm still in search of the manual just to double check.

As long as they don't stay on you should be fine, did they come on before, or didn't you notice?

If they stay on it usually means that your card is dead..but yours isn't. Might as well check, though, for future reference.
