Default Unsure if this will work

This Christmas I'm getting a brand new desktop computer. To connect to the internet I plan to use a linksys wireless adapter. My question is that if I use this adapter on the new computer will it work when Windows Vista comes out. I will be getting the Windows vista Home Premium edition and I was wondering if it would be a waste of money to buy this adapter and then not have it work with the release of the new operating system.

Something that new SHOULD have vista compatable drivers when it comes out. However, if they decide to make a new model of the adaptor, it may or may not get the drivers. Though this shouldn't be a problem.

Have you checked on linksys's site yet? Some sites already have vista drivers out.

i would be extremely surprised if it wouldn't work. although i haven't looked into whether windows vista will be backwards compatible with older drivers, i see no reason why it would not. especially if it's a new card, micro$oft wouldn't risk having to make there customers by new hardware to be compatible with there new OS. I would feel pretty safe with it.

Current drivers probably wouldn't work. But if you look at most networking cards, many of them have drivers dating back to Windows 9x and up to current XP and Server 2003...
