Default Speedfan & C4d

I just got C4D and render something last night that took a long time. Is there a way to have SpeedFan overclock my GPU to my Performance 3D settings so that the rendering goes faster

Well first you dont use SpeedFan to overclock your GPU. Why dont you just overclock the GPU using RivaTuner or CoolBits, and why do you only want it overclocked when your rendering?

When you overclock with RivaTuner or CoolBits, it should save that overclock so everytime you startup your computer, it's OC'd. If it doesn't, there should be a way to save a profile to automatically load on startup.

I'm almost 100% sure that CoolBits and nTune have a checkbox to OC the GPU when you startup the computer.

Most renderers only use the CPU to render, Maya has a hardware renderer which utilizes the GPU for the shaders, but usually it's just the CPU. Cause renderfarms would be a lot more expensive if they had to get video cards for 'em too.

with C4D you mean something like AutoCAD? anyway... if its a dx/openGL 3d application, you can just overclock the 3d settings of the nvidia card you have,... it will run on stock in 2d, and on the overclocked settings for 3d applications.
or at least... thats what i understand from these drivers so far.. ^^

does C4D not use the GPU for rendering

It depends on what renderer you use, but most only use the CPU. I've only heard of about 1-2 renderers that use the GPU for something.
