The FX5700LE isn't the best, it's far from it. Theres the PCI 6200, and the newer PCI x1300.

yeah I guess they do not even make the FX5700LE anymore, it's no where to be found.

Do you think the FX5500 256mb and 128mb can play battlefield? It is in my budget range

I am in the process of upgrading my ram in sig adding another 512 = for total of 768

Which one are you talking about? Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142?

It should play it, but with your computer, it will most likely be on low-lowest settings, even with the new GPU.

okay back from work, on the way home I thought I would stop by best buy to see if they would have what I wanted.

They had the,

GeForce FX5200 256MB PCI

And

Radeon 9250 256MB PCI

For around $83 bucks, when they can be had on new egg including shipping for around $60 what a difference huh? LOL…

Okay so back to the FX5500

Do you guys think that 128mb is going to be enough? I was on another computer forum (I don’t have a nick there, just doing research) and some guys said that with PCI cards you can not take advantage of 256mb that it is a waste? Like extra that PCI wont use, so you might as well stick with 128mb. What do you guys think of that.. See in below link the 128mb version can be had real cheap on eBay.

GeForce FX5500 128mb around $45 with shipping
http://cgi.ebay.com/BRAND-NEW-PNY-nV...QQcmdZViewItem

VS

GeForce FX5500 256mb around $68 with shipping
http://cgi.ebay.com/BRAND-NEW-nVIDIA...QQcmdZViewItem

At this point I have enough money to buy the cheaper one, or should I save more and opt for the 256mb?

Appreciate your insights, and if you guys think there is another card I should look at in the same price range let me know.

For the price difference, I would go with the 128MB model, you wont notice a difference with the 256 really.
