Default uninstall wins 2k

Hi,

I have 2 operating systems (XP and wins 2k) on my comp and the hard disk has been partition into half. Everytime when It boots up, it will ask which operating sys to boot in and i find this is rather a pain. So now i want to get rid of 2k completely and merge all drives into one.

I need your expertise.

thanks in advance

you dont have to get rid of it or merge. you just need to get rid of the windows 2k from your boot.ini file. remove the 2k os line and save it then reboot or if xp is the top option just set the timeout to 0 and is done.

I've tried to do that but it won't let me save the file after I edited it. It said "can't save this file as it's an attribute file? "

So I don't know what to do next

Delete all the partitions and make another one with all the hard drive then you can use one OS without a boot menu.

are you editing it on the c: drive? for xp you need to go to the system properties and start up and recovery section to edit and make changes to it and click okay.
