Default Sound

Hi guys, I am experiencing trouble with my sound at the moment. What happened was, my computer was fine I was just doing my normal thing when my internet starting cutting out, so I went and used my laptop for a bit and came back and the net was fine again. When i went to listen to some music it said

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another program, or it may not be functioning properly."

So i re-installed my drivers and it was fine again. I play counter strike: source so I opened that up and played for a little while (exited WMP whilst playing) and when I exited CSS my sound was gone. I got that same message and the sound in CSS was also gone. I re-installed my drivers yet again and had the same outcome.

Also, my computer has been doing weird stuff like the task bar changes to the old style bar for a few seconds and then changes back to XP style. I have no clue on what I could do. I also recently formatted so I dont think its a virus as I have barely been downloading.

Does anyone know whats wrong?

Thanks in advance.

You dont have to download anything to get a virus ! Just being connected to the internet your at risk.

What i would do is make sure all the firewall and antivirus software is up to date. Do a virus scan and then do a Hijack log and post it here. It may not be that but just do it to be on the safe side.
