Default Internet Problems

I have a laptop that wont connect to the internet, and I'm stumped. Its trying to connect wirelessly, and I've tried many different routers. It says it's connected to the router, but the internet still wont work. I did and 'ipconfig /all' from the command prompt and compared it with my other laptop and all the settings were the same. Any ideas? Thanks.

First, this should be in the internet/networking section..

But what ip address does the IPconfig report you have? Has it been specified in the tcp/ip properties of the wireless config?

The IP shown is 192.168.1.100, and it's not conflicting with any other IP's on the network. I have it set up to automatically detect the IP and DNS...but earlier I did try manually putting them in there but it still didnt work.

When you plug a computer in to the router, does the router allow that computer to connect to the internet? (is the router really connecting to the internet?)

If it is, is there a wep key on the wireless network, and have you entered it? Also, do you have mac address filtering on? If you do, you will connect but not be allowed any internet.

Im not sure if this would work but you could try restart the router/modem if you have one. restart the network adaptors in Device manager. Reset and release your ip in ipconfig and see if that works.

It turns out there was spyware on the computer that wasn't allowing me to connect to the internet. Thanks for all the suggestions though.
