Question music on diff hdd

i use windows media player and i will soon be using itunes. is it possible to have all of my music which is on my OS hdd and place it on another hdd but have it so that when i open WMP and itunes all of my music is there. if you have any questions then just ask. thanks.

if i understand you right, yes you can.

you are talking about having 2HDD's in your computer and storing music on one and the OS and software on the other? right?

Just move all the music to the other hard drive, and then import the entire drive into your iTunes/WMP library.

yes its very easy, if you have a second hard-drive, set it to slave (most hdds show how to do that on the hdd itself) then install it and it usually just kind of works.

If it is an IDE drive, then, yes, you have to set your jumpers to the right settings (Some have an automatic jumper setting). With a SATA drive, though, you just have to plug it in and format it.....

Sorted but i have a little problem and its that wehn i transfered all of my music to my other hdd then delete it from the OS hdd.

i then added my music back to the media library but not i have double songs in my albums so its the same 2 songs and only one works. and when i try to delete the song that doesnt work i get the error message saying...

Cannot delete file: cannot delete file from the Source file or disk

Any ideas?
