how to manually turn on sound card

my computer doesnt recognize my sound card and i was wondering how to manually turn it on. i dont know much about this kind of stuff but i know a bit about computers so try to explain in detail.

Have you installed the drivers for the sound card?

arnt the supposed to install when i reboot my comp.? caus i did and it said no sound driver found and idk what soundcard i got or any of that

well your gonan have to know, try a program liek belarc or something it should tell you what uis in that prot, or go in through bios, but you deffinetly need drivers for the sound card to work, some sound cards install after first boot

disable onboard sound in the bios aswell

Did you just buy a sound card, or have you had it for a while? You should be able to look at the card itself and see what type or the model number it is.
