Azul Systems plans to release a 48core cpu in 2007. Both Intel and AMD are planning to market the server and then eventual desktop models next year. If you look into Sun Microsystems and IBM server mainframes you will that they have already been working a full line of quad core models for some time now. The latest article found on Intel's and AMD's own plans can be read at http://www.pcworld.com/article/12786...l?tk=nl_dnxnws

Abit and MSI are the only ones seen so far seeing any announcements on quad core ready boards. That leaves out a number of AMD as well as Core 2 Duo model boards. The best way to find that out on any particular make or model board is to go straight to the manufacturer's site for details and specifications seen there. The two articles on Abit and MSI boards can be seen at the links here.
