Ok, I've been running my PC for a couple years now.
I built it on a low budget, but with quality parts and it has been stable without ever crashing. I have an XP 2500+, ASUS MOBO, 512mb RAM, old AGP video card that is good enough, unless I get into gaming. It is powered by a 420W PSU that came with the case that has only a 13A/12V rail. -I just purchased a new case, a 500W PSU with Dual rails and a bunch of fans and some other accessories to give it a facelift and maybe even increase performance slightly. -I mostly use it for the net, file storage, some photo editing apps, and to watch videos via the DVD drive. -Do you guys think it would be worth trying to OC this setup to gain some performance or should I just leave it as is? What other areas of computing can I achieve with this setup (i.e.- gaming?) |

you should be able to o/c that cpu near the 3200+. take it slow, but many people have done this. the clock and multiplier are both unlocked. a setting of 200 fsb and 11 multiplier should give you those results. although another 512 of ram would probably show a better performance gain, and they are relatively inexpensive.
