Default XP Price Cut?

I was wandering if anyone knows if there would be a price cut on Windows XP Pro at the release of Windows Vista.

Oh and is it true that Microsoft will stop supporting XP Home at the release of Vista?

Thanks :]

No, MS never cuts prices on former OSes. They simply discontinue them.

I believe there is still support for Windows 2000 and maybe even 98 but I know they have been try to end that for a while.

I think they'll support XP for a while. Especially since people aren't going to run out and buy new computers just to use the new OS. And alot of people can't spend or don't want to spend 100's of dollars on software when they have something that works.

Exactly, it looks Microsoft around 8 years to stop supporting Windows 98. So if they follow the same time table, then they will stop supporting Windows XP sometime in 2009.
