Should I be hearing this sizzling noise?

Ok. I got a sound card a while ago for my old pc. I currently got a new pc and hooked that sound card up. Everything is dandy except that my sister (currently on my old pc) can't get any sound. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks.

Sizzling noise? Are you hearing this but not sound or what? Is it very loud?

My guess, most sound cards have some static noise in the background. You probably don't have any drivers installed, but the soundcard is still active so you hear the static. Unless it's really loud, then you have a problem...

im not really hearing those noises i just want to know how to switch to onboard sound....lol thanks though

Just go to bios and turn on onboard sound if its off. Where that option is, depends on the motherboard.
