Default disk read error

I just used ghost to clone the hard drive in my emachine to a few lil bit older computers with no operating systems. When i put the hard drive in it. it starts then its says " Disk read error please press ctrl+alt+delete to restart." this cloned drive will work in my emachine. I think it may be the bios? Or some issues with motherboard drivers and such matybE? im not sure. There older computers where custom built and given to me but they have no windows or anything. Any suggestions? thanks
