Default Computer startup problem for HP desktop

Recently my computer have gotten a severe problem. So here's what happens: I start up my computer, it loads to the Window XP Home Edition screen, right after that, computer automatically restarts itself, and it just repeats over and over. What could be the problem?

I can get into safe mode though, if that helps any.

theres a lot of reason for that.
1. mixing of different types of ram
2. windows problem with a virus
3. problem with your resoultion on your VGA card

probably not memory because i changed it long time ago and it had been working. I tried it with a new working monitor but it didn't work so i guess not the VGA? So if it is the virus, what should i do?

OS is window XP right? the reformat i have is in the computer itself, i went in safe mode and recovered fully, so it's back to like how it was before when i bought it. Anyway, doesn't the window XP comes automatically after reformat? Why do i have to install it?
