Urgent help needed!

I am operating from a laptop, the only computer I have working. I used the family pc to backup some data and then I wanted to see if the hD I was backing-up would boot, so I turned off the computer, unplugged the power and ide cable from the hd with the operating system for the family computer. It didn't boot, so I unhhoked that drive, and then hooked-up the original one with the os on it for the family pc. Now it says:

Searching for boot record from scsi...not found
searching for boot record from floppy...not found
searching for boot record from foppy...not found

I need to get the family pc working! My dad's going to be pissed. Anyone know what could be happening?

make sure that all IDE cables are pluged in tight.

cables seem to be properly set-up.

try unpluging the IDE cables from the MOBO and reinserting them

Tried that just now. Still nothing.
