So i built my own computer with everything new except harddrives. and my new motherboard only has one IDE port. I had two hard drives, one is 40gb, which originally has the WIndows XP installed, and my other storare device is the 120gb hard drive. That's not a problem though because i only want the 120gb in the new computer. I wanted to install the 120gb into my new computer, since i can only use one drive. But everytime i put the 120gb drive in, the computer says failure boot disk error, insert system disk....
But when i install my 40gb instead of the 120gb, it works fine...... so my question is how do i make the 120gb work in my new computer.... do i have to reformat the hard drive? if so, how do i go about doing this? do i need to place it back in my old computer along wit the 40gb and reformat the 120gb, then take it out and place it in the new computer. Then can i install windows XP on that hard drive.....???? BTW, i don't have a floppy drive in neither computers..... |
