Default computer crashes every so often

I have a pc that I built about a year ago and I have never had any problems with it. However over the last week or so it has been crashing every so often. It crashes usually once a day but it can happen at any time. All that happens is that the screen will just freeze so I can't move my mouse or use my keyboard. I have Norton Internet Security 2007 and have performed scans etc but nothing has been found.

Please can someone help me out and tell me what the problem could be.

Please post Hijack This logs in the security section. Personally I'd remove Norton and get some other security software but use whatever you are comfortable with.

it started crashing before I had norton on. I only installed norton yesterday to see if that would sort the problem out. Any other advice? Also what is HJT?
