Default Upgrading, good idea?

Hey guys im looking to Upgrade the system in my sig,
Im looking to add this ram:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145157
For a total of 2 gigs

And this hard drive:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822146226

My thoughts:
- is the ram going to give me that big of a preformance boost?
- is the hard drive worth it for only 20 gigs more than i have ( i only have 9 gigs of free space left over on my current drive)
- Would need to copy my data over to the new hard drive, so i would need to get a 2.5" external enclosure to copy my data, and some type of program that can move everything on my hard drive onto the new one.

What do you guys think?

the ram might make it a little perkier but i dont think it would be needed and also a new hhd would be a good idea. have you though about getting say a massive 320gb external hdd or do you want to keep it in your laptop?

i kinda want to keep it in my laptop. I put a bunch of crap on our server so that acts like my mian storage center for photos, movies, PS files. Most of the space on my hd is taken up my games and programs that i use everyday. If i do get an extern HD i will wait for WD to come out with thier external SATA interface cards and HDs.
