Default Choosing new PSU....

AMD Athlon 64 3200+
160 GB HD
1.5 GB RAM
DVD+/- RW
CD-ROM
Geforce 7600GT

It is a prebuilt eMachine but I upgraded the video card & RAM, and after experiencing some problems I decided to get a new PSU. I found two but I don't know which is good.

I'm looking for a good PSU, not expensive, around 400 watts. I looked at the PSU 101 thread, did some searching and found these two. I just can't decide which to get. I don't plan on further upgrading this computer, maybe another hard drive, for another year or two. Then I'll make my own. I just don't know if I should get the one with more connectors with less amps(I think that's what it's called) or the other way around. I need some suggestions. Feel free to post better one's, but not too expensive.

Thanks.

I would go with this one,

a tiny bit more expensive, but alot more powerful.

The Thermaltake is a rebadged HEC 300W ATX1.3 unit. The CoolerMaster is better, for a few dollars more i'd favour the XClio 450BL

Cheap PSUs - 2% of system costs, responsible for 28% of system deaths
As Sealed Stick was removed, lost or damaged, it shall be out of warranty validity.
- The "Warranty void if removed" sticker on numerous CoolerMaster PSUs.

Since the fan is on top, wouldn't that mean I need an open spot on top so the air can flow out?

It looks like the fan is on top because they took a pic of the PSU upside down. When you mount it the fan will be facing down and sucking air in.

Alright, thanks. I guess that PSU is out of the question because I don't have an open area underneath the PSU holder, or am I wrong?

Could you clarify this a little? What do you have that would block it?

I have an Aspire ATX-AS520W-BK that I could sell to you for $30 plus shipping ($8 within USA). For a power supply with a fan on top you can mount it right side up or upside down (doesn't matter) so the fan is exposed.

Reason I have it for sale is because I wanted a power supply that was modular so I got the X2 Connect.

The Aspire still runs fine after months of use.

I don't know if I can take it off or it's part of the PSU, but here is a picture of it.

I'll think about it.

EDIT: I don't want to make a new thread for this. I used speedfan and it says I have 124 degrees celsius for remote 2. Can someone tell me what remote 2 is and how I can get the temp. down?
