Default Dual layer

When i was shopping around for laptops before i got mine i came across one i liked but i didnt like the price
Anyway it had a Dual Layer DVD-RW

Can any1 tell me what Dual Layer actually is?

It means that it can burn a dual layer dvd, (A dvd with 2 layers)

A dual layer DVD It has twice the capacity of a normal DVD.

I think wiki says it best ;P Though the problem with dual layer is compatability. Most DVD Players have a hard time reading them. Personally, I have never had a need for anything over the standard single layer disk(4.7G)
