Default usb 2.0

I recently installed a usb 2.0 pci card on my desk top and in the device manager it says there is an hi speed controller and it shows the 4 ports and i also installed a self powered 7 port hub but when i connect any usb 2.0 device it says this device will perform faster on a usb 2.0 port and then gives me a list of available ports to which i am already plugged into. my system is operating on xp with service pack 2 and is an amd 1.5 processer with 1 gig ram.I am at a loss to come up with any cure any help will be greatly appreciated???????????

By the sound of it, the Hub is a USB 1.1 onem and not a USB 2.0 hub
or do you mean it gives that message when you plug in a USB2.0 device into the card itself? =o

I've got a 1.1 hub myself and when i plug something in it, there's that message "this device will perform faster on a usb 2.0 port". Your hub is a USB 1.1 hub.
