Default broken tab

I am a newbie here and received great, priceless info within minutes of my first post, so i just had to ask another question that is bothering me. As I stated in my last query, I installed aa additional gig of ram in my computer today, it was my 1st time doing this, it went in easy enough, but after i rebooted and received a bunch of problems i thought i may have knocked something else loose or put the mem in wrong, so i opened my pc back up and blew everything out with canned air again and checked for missing or pulled oout wires, i also removed the mem i just put in and tried to turn it around and put it in that way, well as you already know it only fits one way, so i re-replaced it and while pushing the little tabs down to pop the mem up i broke one of them off! i blew the little piece out from under the end of where the mem sits and put it in using one tab on the other end. is this going to cause a prob? the mem is in there really tightly and i dont think it will fall out, will it with only one clip on one end? one other thing too, when i first opened my pc to put the mem in it was the first time opening the case in over 2 years and there was tons of dust everywhere. i used compressed air to blow it all out, but it seemed to leave a film if i held it too close to anything, could i have damaged my hard drive and gave myself these errors with the air or dust?

Are you serious? or just joking. I hope you're not serious, that would be horrible. I didn't think a missing RAM card would be THAT much of a problem... Sorry I can't offer my opinion on this topic. I've never broken any hardware before. Sorry!

I am unfortunately serious, it took considerable force (20-30 lbs) to insert, it was very tight, and it still has one tab clicked in the other end. i cannot see it "falling" out when it had to be forcibly removed prior. what should i do then, as i said my pc has never ran better/faster?

You should be totally fine Those tabs are just there for extra security, but 99.9999999999% of memory is fine without them.

As long as the RAM doesn't start to fall out everything is fine. If it does fall out, resteating it (or removing all together) should be all you need to do.
