Okay, so I can get my processor (E6400) overclocked to 2.4GHz (300 FSB) and it works fine. When I try to get it higher, the computer doesnt detect my harddrive so I cant boot. When I bring it back down to 2.4GHz it works fine again. Does anyone know what can be causing this.
Also, I can change my PCI-E Frequency to 100 or 101 like someone told me to do because every time it do, the system bios just reset to default. And I am running on the stock bios (F2) because I cant update because I dont have a floppy drive and there is a bio update that is decribed as "overclocking problems fix". BTW, my mobo at this time is GA-965G-DS3.

erm... because not all chips can be exacly the same?..
it could be that your motherboard goes unstable when you go over 300MHz.. are you overvolting your NB and SB? as for the BIOS update.. really... get a floppy drive and a good floppy ofcourse

Have you raised any of the voltages? Try raising the VCore to 1.35/1.40v. That motherboard should have SATA locks, but check the BIOS to make sure it does.
Also try lowering your RAM speed.

I stopped trying the other day and now I tried it again (overclocking). I think my board my be messed up because, I change my Multiplyer to 2.00 and my PCI-E Freq. to 100 and then change my FSB to 275 (266 is stock). When the boot starts and it show the stats of the system it show for the processor speed 2.13(8x267). Even when I raise the FSB ever higher it still says 2.13(8x267).
The board is a GA-965G-DS3. I purchased this board while I'm waiting on my mine to return from Gigabyte which is a GA-965P-DS3. Just wanted to make sure I mentioned that.
