Having trouble installing game. DVD won't read

I`m trying to install Myst 4 on my PC. I got a 1.4 p4, 384 ram, Windows ME 32 video, and a dvd rom to install it. I go right ahead and it asks me to insert DVD number 2 during the install. When I go to open the dvd tray, my PC goes: Eject request to Drive in Use: An Eject request was received for a drive that
is in use, are sure you want to open this. After waiting a long time it does this also. I open up the tray anyway, slide in number 2 and the pc does not read a dvd in there or a cd. Any way I can counter this? The 2nd DVD is read in my brother's laptop but not in my PC. Any ideas? The first one is read fine.

And what make and model of DVD drive do you have?

Make sure that the disc isnt scratched, because if a disk is scratched then it wont work in a dvd drive that has a high speed, but will work in a lower speed, that probably isnt the problem but its something that happens when a cd is scratched. If your brother will let you and you want to do this, you can borrow his dvd drive and put it in your computer to install it, but only do taht if you know how to.
