any suggestions for a good combat flight sim? I'd prefer jets to ww2 planes as I like the speed and handling and missiles more(like bf2 kind of flying)I've tried Microsoft's flight sims and they lack something for me so I'm looking for a recent flight simulator with good action.

I know you asked for new games, but I have to suggest these.
FreeSpace: The Great War, in my opinion the best flight sim ever. The gameplay is great, but the storyline is amazing. USAF is an older sim, but I like it very much. The graphics are a bit lacking, but its fun.

If you like jets, for the consoles the Ace Combat series is extremely good. I've had difficulty finding a good simulator for the computer, but I believe that the IL2 game mentioned above is a very good game, and is probably the best for the computer...

Also I looked into usaf and found a bit difficult to understand and for some reason I couldn't change the controls for my joystick in the demo, the game would freeze when I tried to which kind of put me off. I also don't like the sci-fi genre for flying although it does look good I might look into it. Thanks for the replies guys.

The game is a couple of years old, so the demo might be kind of hard to find... Look around at game review sites (pc.ign.com, gamespot, gamespy...) see if they have it. Otherwise see if you can find it on Google.
