I made a bet with Michelle that there are 56 lines possible in this picture:

now, this is what I got:

7 lines connected to the 8 dots=56.

what did you get?

7+6+5+4+3+2+1=28

First one connects to 7 others, second connects to seven as well, but there is already a line to one, so it is 6, etc.

its the exact one, i'm having problems with photobucket and CF, the first photo I post doesn't show up as anything but a link so i just posted it again right under it

I think hes right.

Because 7*8 would mean that your counting each line twice, a line going from say, dot one to dot two, counts as only one, you cant count it twice.

I went ahead and tried to count the lines manually, and I got something around 24, so its definitely not 56.
