Default Firefox Gran Paradiso

Ive just downloaded and installed the new developer released of Firefox. It is Firefox 3.0 alpha 1 codenamed Gran Paradiso.

The most noticeable difference is the way that it displays web pages. The Computer Forum homepage has the same layout but the fonts have changed slightly and everything looks a little bit different. The new layout and the way it displays web pages is down to the Cairo graphics library which I really like.

It also looks quite cool and the menus have changed a bit.

It is really buggy though. It crashed when I tried to play a Java game and then again when I tried to use the search function.

If you want to download it or install it you can get it here but it can crash a lot and some features and web pages are buggy and don't display right.

Firefox 2 shouldn't crash normally because its been release. Firefox 3 is not even in beta, only alpha. Try reinstalling it. Firefox 3 is only meant to be installed by developers because it might mess things up. Your also meant to report all the bugs to Mozilla so that they can fix them for the next build.

From the looks of my FF2 they never even got that right. They have no business building another one until they fix the previous one IMO. This one still mimics many of the same problems and flaws that 1.5 had. They don't learn from their mistakes, they just make them prettier.

When I use firefox it opens and runs fine. When I close it things go to hell. I close it and it never really closes, it uses 100000K background services when it isn't doing anything! I use Internet Explorer 7 and I like it a lot better at this point. Nothing but bad luck with FireFix here as well!

Maybe that's because I'm not a fanboy or a rebel without a cause, I don't BS people so I can be "cool" and I just tell it like it is.

I just got my IE on CF to surf a couple of pages. It's literally twice as fast. Plus, what's this deal with having to click on File > New Tab every damn time I want another tab open? What kind of stupidity is that?

How long do I have to wait on a 5 Meg connection for the avatars to load on FF? IE is instant. FF takes forever.

This browser is the biggest piece of crap on the planet. Opera and IE simply kick it's ass to browser hell and back, that's all there is to it. I'll take Opera over FF any day of the week (and for surfing porn Opera just spanks FF stupid).

Why do you think that FF is the biggest piece of crap ?? any reason ?

Personally, I have used Firefox 2.0, IE7 and opera9.0, and I think FF2.0 is the best, and opera 9.0 is the worst browser. IE7 in my opinion is the second best browser after FF.

The reason why I like FF2.0 the most is because it has spell checker, it is easier to use, and because when you use the find option in FF it searches for you the word that you type letter by letter, whereas in IE7 and opera you need to write the full word to search for it. Also, I like FF because it is very simple browser and you can customize it the way you want.

IE is a good browser in my opinion, but not as good as FF

Opera is the worst browser I ever used in my life. I hate opera because the skin/layout is horrible, and opera in my opinion is very complicated browser, and it is biggest piece of crap. Also, there are a lot of website that doesn't render correctly in Opera, specially the websites in others languages like Arabic. So, I don't see any reason for anyone to use Opera.

You can click on Ctrl+T to open a new tab in FF

Also, you can add "new tab" option from the customize toolbars. Just click right click in the top of Firefox, and then click on customize

here is a screenshot

After you click on customize, drag the "new tab" item to the toolbar
