Default Is my laptop good

I got this acer laptop for my birtday. And I was interested, is it good for gaming (new high quallity games)
It freezes sometimes in game (battlefield 2142), is this due to lack of cpu?

centrino m pentium m 740 1.73g processor.
Ati radeon x700 vram 256mgb
1gb ram ddr2

ram is the only thing that can be upgraded (2gb), I was wondering if its worth upgrading it for games.
what about the new centrino duo come against centrino m with the same clock speed?

all opinions are welcome!!!
cheers

it seems like it could play Battlefield 2142. What settings are you using in the game?

The x700 is a bit better than a 7300GS. Has anyone tried them game using one of those cards? I'd imagine it'd work alright, but it'd have to be on low settings.

Mobility x700
Shader Operations: 2800 Operations/sec
Pixel Fill Rate: 2800 MPixels/sec
Texture Fill Rate: 2800 MTexels/sec
Vertex Operations: 525 MVertices/sec

7300GS
Shader Operations: 2200 Operations/sec
Pixel Fill Rate: 1100 MPixels/sec
Texture Fill Rate: 2200 MTexels/sec
Vertex Operations: 412.5 MVertices/sec

I'd say they are pretty close

I don't understand why people want to game on laptops. I own 2 laptops on HP nc4200 and an ibook, and I would never play games on them. They are for work really.

I game on my desktop only, and if its portability you want for a gaming rig, build a LAN PC, in one of those mico towers. Those are at least somewhat upgradeable.
