Default Motherboard /CPU compatability

First time for me doing processor/motherboard work. Will this MB and this processor work together?

Please help,

Processsor I purchased,

Socket 478
Core Prescott
Single-Core
Name Pentium 4 3.0E
Operating Frequency 3.0GHz
FSB 800MHz
L1 Cache 12KB+16KB
L2 Cache 1MB
Process Type 90 nm

Motherboard I am thinking about buying,

Brand epox
Socket 478
Intel 865PE Chipset
ICH5
Intel® Pentium® 4/Celeron®
400/533/800MHz
4 x DDR SDRAM PC2100/2700/3200 Dual Channel, 4GB

It says Prescott ready but I'm not sure. I have an 845 chipset now that will not work and was told that an 865 will. I don't know what the PE means. I am on a budget. This is a 50.00 MB. If you have any recommendations I would like to stay under 100.00

If those specs are right, then it looks like it will work.

How much did you spend on the processor?

If you want to make sure... there is the long road... go the the homepage for the mobo company and then look up your motherboard. See if there is a compatiblity list for CPU's, Ram's, GPU's, ETC... If they dont have it then you can sent them a email through help/support/contact us.
