Unhappy k7s41gx mobo audio fault

my fiance has a k7s41gx asrock mobowith which the onboard microphone output/input was extremely low. i tried microphone boost and it was still very quiet, there's nothing wrong with mic as it works fine on my system and no loose wires as i installed the mobo into a new case for her the other day and it still does it. her cousin has the same mobo and the same problem with it. does anyone know if this is a common fault with this model of motherboard and any solutions on how to fix it. ps:-i have installed a sound card for her now and it's fine but i still want to know what the problems cause is.
