Exclamation If you run 2 8MB Buffer HDD's in RAID will it make one big 16MB Buffer?

Just wondering. The RAID where it makes 2 HDD's run as one. I forgot what its called.....IS RAID safe?

I separate it to answer individual questions...

Question one: whats it is called: Striping/RAID-0
Question two: Will it work: It should, but I haven't done so before.

Any RAID makes x hard drives appear as one but Kusama is probably right in thinking you are talking about a RAID 0.

Is RAID safe? RAID 0 isn't because if one drive fails you lose everything.

Could you do a Raid 1(the one where it makes a copy of everything on another HDD?) of a pair of Raid 0? Meaning yo have four HDD's

the best option for speed and backup would be a raid 5, which essentially takes two of your HDD's and makes thema raid 0, and then takes a third one as a backup, so if one of your drives fail, you can install a new one and be ok.

basically you have the speed of raid 0, and the security of raid 1
