I lost the recovery cd for my laptop but i want to do a fresh install of the windows. Can i install the XP media center on the laptop? or it does not matter as long as it is installed in a pc (desktop or laptop)
If i install the xp will i need to install some type of program that will tell me about the battery life? Thanks EDIT My laptop had a 256 Samsung DDR2 533 RAM when i got it but i added another OCZ 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 533. The thing is my laptop never used over 1GB of ram. What i want to know is will my laptop perform better if i just take out the Samsung RAM? The two ram is from different company so i was thinking maybe it will make it perform slower.

Any PC OS should work on the laptop. There's no OS specific to laptops. XP has both your desktop and laptop functions(battery meter and such)
