help! I opened up my computer (unplugged) and used a duster 2 spray to remove built up dust off the circuit boards. This apparently caused some damage because now the computer is screwed up! When I turn it on it first shows it is counting all the ram, up to 1024 (1-2 minutes) and then says
"no boot system detected, system halted." Did I kill this machine? This is a Pen. 1.7, about 5 years old. Untill I did this, it was running ok. Please help. I need to either get this fixed or get a new computer fast. Thanks! |

Check the ribbons and power connectors on your drives and motherboard. Be sure everything is seated correctly. No floppies or CDs in the system, right? Also, you might as well check the boot order in the BIOS to be sure it didn't get reset somehow.

if your using a canned air, it may have re seated the battery somehow, try clearing bios with the jumper or removing and re seating the battery. then make your harddrive your primary boot device
