Default $400

i can spend $400

ideas?

here is the computer i have:

Compaq Deskpro 450+
Intel Penitum 3 Slot 1 866MHz
256MB RAM
Nvidia Riva TNT2 Model64

idk much about my mobo
but i know that my motherboard has 5 PCI slots, no APG, no PCI-e, 2 RAM slots... 512 is max memory

i have a monitor, i have a keyboard, i have a mouse, i have speakers, i have a harddrive, (i have a case and PSU, but idk if it would work with anything i bought...)

what is the best thing to do with this money?

what should i buy?

the only thing i really would want to do that i can't do now is play Battle For Middle Earth

if i could i'd liketo play that game full graphics online:

its system requirements are:

System Requirements
Operating System: Windows XP
CPU: 1.6 GHz or faster
RAM: 256 MB or more
CD: 8x or faster CD/DVD drive
Hard Disk Space: 6.0 GB or more free space
VIDEO: DirectX 9.0c compatible Video card with 64 MB or more memory and one of these chipsets is required: ATI Radeon 8500 or greater; NVIDIA GeForce 3 or greater (GeForce 4 MX not supported)
CPU: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

i only want to spend this on my computer or buying parts to a computer if there is a way i could play this game on full graphics ( i can't even play it right now) without lag... online

Don't forget a hard drive. Western Digital 80gb for $43.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822135106

There is also a Samsung 160Gb for $59.99 but that would put you over budget.

AMD 3200+ AM2
Biostar Tforce 550 (Lots of overclocking options)
Patriot 1GB (2x512MB)
Western Digital 250GB (7200RPM/16MB/SATAII)
Antec Sonata w/ 450w Antec SM2.0 PSU
X800GTO (unlocked and oced to X800XT) $75 + $10 S/H

TOTAL: $519 - $20MIR +S/H (~$30) = ~$529

Obviously there are things you can cut out..

EDIT: Oh...that's a little much over budget. So, I'd say, go down to 512MB of RAM, and get the cheapest hard drive (or use your current one). You can downgrade the motherboard a little if you want, but I wouldn't too much.

Theres really nothing you can do to upgrade that, you would be much better off buying a computer that Jet posted.
