Default Thermal Gweathe

I happen to know that i am getting a Zalman CNPS-9500 for my A64 for christmas. Now, i dont know if i am getting the AS5 that i asked for, so, is it alright if i just use, in case i dont get the AS5, the thermal stuff that comes with the Zalman? is it any good? or should i wait to put it on and get some AS5 with my christmas money (which will be hard to do). Any advice appreciated.

That stuff is fine, the difference between stock and AS5 is only a few degrees C as the most.

yeah, just remember to do a good job applying it. i actually just reapplied my thermal grease (the first time i applied it without reading some good instuctions from the internet). my temps have dropped another 3-4 degrees at idle.

If its a new heatsink, it should come with a thermal pad pre-installed.

thermal pads arent as good as thermal paste, and the 9500 only comes with thermal paste.
