It is about Jesus Christ's birthday. Though he wasn't born on Dec. 25, it is still celebrated then. Sadly, people's focus has shifted to receiving gifts, Santa, and candy canes instead of the joy of giving other's presents.

Basically Christmas makes me slow down and helps me remember what Christ did for me. It isn't (at least for me) any certain "sequence of events" (ie. I wake up, jump 3 times and say Merry Christmas! ), it just happens.
