Question If you play a game in wide screen, will you see more like on a wide screen TV?

OK, well ya know how a wide screen TV is used like with a wide screen DVD it will show you the extra pictures that full screen doesn't? Well, if you used a wide screen monitor with games that allow it will it show you extra parts of the game that a square screen wouldn't?

If you try to watch a widescreen movie on a full screen, you will still see the same picture, it wont be any wider. However on a full screen monitor, it has to shrink it to fit on the TV, so you will have much larger black areas on the top and bottom. But you still dont see anything less then on a widescreen monitor.

In terms of games, i'm really not sure, but i'm interested in finding out.

If gaming with a widescreen monitor then yes, you will see more than a standard 19" (or what have you)monitor. This is why EA decided to not put in any options for widescreen resolutions in BF2 and BF2142. They felt it would give people an unfair advantage...but there's a way to get around it. So technically I'm cheating when I play BF2142 since I get to see more...I think.

it probably depends on the game

i played unreal tournament (don't know which one, it was just a demo) on 3 monitors, and everything stayed the same size, but it showed periperal vision on the outside two monitors, which was pretty neat

made me quite dizzy, tho
