I am trying to figure out how upgradable an HP OmniBook Xe is. Its got a miserable amount of ram (which I know is upgradable) and a slow p3 processor. I was wondering what would be upgradable on that?
btw I am more than happy its not my laptop lol. |

you can upgrade the ram, but you need the right sort for your laptop, so dont just buy any old crap.
as for the processor, you can upgrade possibly, but only to a faster P3, there is no way of a P4 or AMD XPm fitting there |

Laptops aren't exactly the most upgradeable computers around. Older ones are much worse than more recent ones. As Matt mentioned, there's no way to go beyond a PIII due to chipset limitations. But besides that, many laptops don't even have socket processors. Some brands even have special boards that the processors are on.
About all you could definetly upgrade on that machine would be your RAM and a larger/faster hard drive.
