Hi all,

Sorry if this has been asked before....but, what is the principle difference between a DVD-R and a DVD+R disc?

Looking through the archives this is the most recent thread that talks about the differences between + and -

Dvd-r

if you have any specific questions, dont hesitate to ask!

Default HMmm...

My turn. That other forum entry did not include this. Does the +R -R media type differ. Is a different type of recording material used? What is so different between a the two that you can only write on a -R with an only -R recorder? Please help me with this.

One of the major differences is that DVD+R is meant mainly for use in home DVD players, most DVD players can play DVD+R, although DVD-R can be used in some DVD players, only newer ones and a few old ones. Almost all DVD players play DVD+R. As long as data goes, there isnt much of a difference, the major differences is for video or audio.

Video or audio??? The difference is the process by which the media is made and by which the burning process is done... the contents are inconsequential
