HijackThis is a tool, that lists all installed browser add-on, buttons, startup items and allows you to inspect, and optionally remove selected items. The program can create a backup of your original settings and also ignore selected items. Additional features include a simple list of all startup items, default start page, online updates and more. Intended for advanced users.

here are some of the free stuff i find useful on my laptop

Mp3 stream recorder-Station Ripper (get ver. 1.13 don't get ver. 2...)
Alarm Clock-Alarm Clock ver .1.1
Dictionary-IFinger ver. 2.1--Merriam Webster's
music convertor-CDex
(this is the best utility I have) it Shuts down my pc; suspends, stand by, disconnets from internet connection, executus a program; it has a timer and a processor meter to execute the chosen commands---RS Somnifero--its great!!

All of these programs are free and have been very useful to me, if you find newer versions of the IFinger or the RS Somnifero be sure to post it--thanks

One that I just found today that has a lot of useful tools is OpenCD.

I needed to make a pdf, and was not about to pay Adobe $400 to do it

Besides a free pdf creator, there are a lot of other useful tools in there.

I love anything free and open source,..I wonder why Microsoft hates open source so much,..lol
