Anyone have it, or previous versions? Is it good? I just got it and dont know if its good.

is Nero editing, cutting, and adding transitions and effects to video?

this software was number 1 rated in PC magazine for video editing, i dont see Nero anywhere

As to crappier, I was referring to the actual media creation, as in the burning and such

I have Roxio Easy Media Creator 9
I mainly use it for burning, creating ISOs and mounting virtual drives.
I don't edit video with it, it is very Easy to use software for video editing however you won't have very many option or advanced features.
If you want the best quality and the best options you should go with Adobe or Avid (both of which are very expensive), if you don't want to spend a lot but want lots of advanced features and options you can go with Magix Movie Edit Pro. Magix is feature rich and a little easier to use and has a greater media format compatibility than Adobe and Avid. The only problem with Magix is it tends to be very buggy
